Privacy Policy

TradeVind helps people run their job search. That means you trust us with personal information such as career history, resumes, contacts, and application activity. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
We do not sell your data. Employer-facing outplacement access does not include individual employee search details.
We send only the context needed for the specific AI task, not your entire account.
You can export or delete your account data and manage cookie consent at any time.
What we collect
When you use TradeVind, we collect:
- Account information - your name, email address, and password or Google OAuth token. This is required to create and secure your account.
- Career data you enter - contacts, companies, jobs, interviews, offers, resumes, outreach messages, and notes. This is the core of what TradeVind stores for you.
- Usage data - which features you use, how often, and general interaction patterns. We use this to improve the product, not to sell ads.
- Payment information - if you subscribe to Pro or purchase credit packs. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Waitlist information - your name and email if you sign up for the waitlist before getting access.
How we use it
- To run the product - storing your data, syncing across devices, generating your action stream, and matching jobs to your profile.
- To power AI features - when you use AI-powered features such as resume tailoring, interview prep, or follow-up drafts, relevant context from your data is sent to our AI provider to generate results.
- To send you emails - account verification, password resets, and if you opt in, digest emails about your search progress. We do not send marketing emails without consent.
- To improve TradeVind - aggregate usage patterns help us understand which features are useful and where the product falls short.
AI features and your data
TradeVind uses Anthropic’s Claude for AI features such as resume optimization, interview prep, and job matching. When you trigger an AI action, we send only the relevant context needed for that task, not your entire account.
For example, if you ask for interview prep, we send the job description and your resume for that role. We do not send your contact list, salary history, or unrelated data.
Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. Requests are processed through their API under standard data processing terms. We do not keep AI conversation logs beyond what is needed to show you the result.
Third parties
We use a small number of third-party services to run TradeVind:
- Neon - serverless Postgres database hosting. Your data is stored with application-level security so only you can access your records.
- Clerk - authentication and identity management. Handles sign-in, session tokens, and account security.
- Anthropic (Claude) - AI processing for features like resume tailoring, interview prep, and job matching. Data is sent per request and not retained for model training.
- Stripe - payment processing for Pro subscriptions and credit packs. Stripe handles all payment data directly; we only store your Stripe customer ID.
- Resend - transactional email delivery for verification, password reset, and digest emails.
- Vercel - application hosting and edge deployment.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for marketing.
Your rights
You own your data. Under GDPR, CCPA, and our own product principles, you can:
- Access your data - request a complete copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can do this from Settings → Privacy → “Download my data”.
- Export your data - download your information in JSON format, including your profile, contacts, companies, jobs, interviews, offers, resumes, and activity records.
- Delete your account - permanently remove all your data from our systems. Account deletion includes a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel.
- Correct information - edit or update your account data through the application interface.
- Restrict processing - pause your subscription, which stops AI processing while keeping your account intact.
- Withdraw consent - opt out of analytics cookies through the cookie banner and unsubscribe from digest emails at any time.
To exercise these rights, use the built-in tools in Settings → Privacy or contact us at hello@tradevind.com. We respond to data requests within 30 days.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove all account data within 30 days. We do not keep recoverable backups of deleted data beyond that grace period.
Credit usage logs are retained for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes for up to 12 months after account closure.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
We process your data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance - processing your career data is necessary to provide the TradeVind service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interest - aggregate usage analytics and error reporting help us maintain and improve the service.
- Consent - analytics cookies are activated only after you explicitly consent via the cookie banner.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest. Authentication tokens are handled through Clerk, and application-level security ensures database queries only return data belonging to the authenticated user.
We do not store passwords in plaintext. If you use Google OAuth, we never see your Google password.
International data transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States through providers such as Vercel and Neon. If you are in the EU or EEA, your data may be transferred to the US under standard contractual clauses maintained by those providers. Anthropic also processes AI requests in the US.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or in-app before the changes take effect. Minor wording updates will not trigger a separate notice, but the date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
